Almost time for school to start up again. I say bring it on. I want this year to start now. I'm sick of being at home again. It's not AS bad when it's just for the weekends, but when it's for 3 weeks, not cool at all. At least I'm getting a lot of hours at work before I get to go on leave, so that means more money in my pocket.

In other news, it looks like I'll be getting my tonsils out next week, assuming the doctors get back to me about scheduling a surgery time and whatnot. I've been diagnosed with chronic tonsilitis, which explains why they're so freaking big all the time and why I get so sick so easily and whatnot. I'm ready for it. The only downside is that I'd have to take at least a week for recovery since I'm getting it done later in life. If I was a kid having the procedure, it'd be only a couple days. Sort of ticks me off since I've been wanting them out for quite some time now. So yeah, at least a week stuck at home. Fun times...

In other other news, Garden State opened this weekend. The bad news is that it's only playing at one of those artsy fartsy theaters that I don't know how to get to. Curse the mainstream theaters for not recognizing film genius! Curse them indeed.

And I gotta give a shout out to Matt for hooking me up with a new banner. He's so hot and cool at the same time. Yeah...

Berliner Liedchen by Wolf Biermann (1989)

Der Westn is besser
Der Westn is bunter
Und schooner und schauer
Und reicher und frei
Und trotzalledem
Ich sag dir die Wahrheit:
Der Westn is ooch nich
-- det Gelbe von’ Ei

Der Ostn is schlechter
Der Ostn is grauer
Und klein sind die Chancen
Und gro? ist die Not
Und trotzalledem:
Der Traum der Commune
der schlief nur und is doch
-- noch lange nich tot

Little Song of Berlin by Wolf Biermann (1989)

The West is better
The West is more colorful
And more beautiful and flashier
And richer and free
And in spite of that
I tell you the truth:
The West is also not
-- the yolk of an egg

The East is worse
The East is grayer
And small are the chances
And large is the distress
And in spite of that:
The dream of equality
Only sleeps and is yet
-- still far from being dead

I don't know why I even try.  I work for hours to better conditions and to prepare for a visit, and it is all undone in less than 24 hours.  Why do I continue to do this to myself?  And why can't my work be appreciated and preserved?

The good news is that I have a mini-fridge now.  It's black and the keeper of Kool-Aid and pop.  I really have no reason to leave my room now.  Except to make healthy food.  I can't live off Little Debbie snacks.  Well, I could, but it wouldn't be wise.

And this Friday The Bourne Supremacy comes out.  My Franka is in it.  Which means I'll be seeing it.

Wow, what a weekend.  Last Thursday, Brandon and I were getting on the bus and I felt a pinch on my foot.  It started itching a lot in class and by the end of the day, my right foot was huge.  When I finally got back to the apartment and got my sandals off, there was an imprint from the sandal strap on the top of my foot since it was so swollen and was pressed against it all day.  I had to drive home that night with the shoelaces out of my right shoe since my foot wouldn't fit into it regularly.  And of course there were idiot drivers who had to stop and stare at a broken-down car on the side of the road, thus causing a back-up for about 45 minutes, leaving me in my car with my swollen right foot (AKA my pedal foot) pressed on the brake pedal.  Talk about pain.  When my foot finally shrunk down enough to find the bite marks, we discovered that there was one ant bite between two of my toes and then about 3 bites in one area on the top of my foot that caused all the swelling.  It's still a little puffy, but not nearly as bad as last week.

So why is it, then, that University Courtyards doesn't mow the grass by the bus stop?  They can have Mexicans out mowing everything else at 7:30 a.m. outside my bedroom when I'm trying to sleep, but they can't take 5 minutes and have one of the illegals swing by the bus stop?  Utterly perplexing.

I also got my hairs cut again.  Say hello to the boy with the buzzed hair.

The better part of this afternoon was spent cleaning the apartment for when Mom and Dad stop in tomorrow when picking up Becky from freshman orientation.  They'll be bringing my new mini-fridge.  I'm very excited.  Now I have a better reason not to ever leave my room.  Why go out when your Kool-Aid and pop is within arm's reach?  There is NO reason, I tell you.  No reason at all.

German is somewhat better now.  Amir is starting to somewhat teach now and isn't talking down to us as much.  We started the 2050 class today.  Not too bad, so far.  This course level focuses more on culture and conversation, so it should be a little funner.  Except for the fact that we still can't understand Amir too much.  Oh well...at least I'm still getting good fuel for X-Mahn's adventures.  We have the cumulative 2040 test tomorrow.  It really doesn't count since grades were turned in today.  We just have to take it for formalities.  Amir said he was going to just copy and paste questions from past tests to make this one, so we should already have all the answers.  But if it doesn't count against you, I'm really not in the mood to stress and whatnot.  I'll cram tomorrow morning before the test.  No more, but definitely less.

If you have never heard the Bolero from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, you are seriously missing out.  It's played during the end credits.  Becky and I are going to download it as a ringtone for our cell phones as soon as we get some stuff straightened out.  Good times.

Have I told you lately that I hate spiders?  Because I do...a lot.

Idiots should not procreate.  Someone said that recently.  I agree.  Neither should two messy people.  That's only asking for trouble.

Megan is over in China right now.  I envy the fact that she gets to leave the U.S. to study a language that she enjoys, but the fact that the country is full of Asians who speak that God-forsaken jibber-jabber is a big turn off.  No way I'd go over there.  Except to promote my films.  Because I will take their money.  Just like Gwenyth Paltrow.  She moved to England with her husband, that guy from Coldplay, because she hates the way America is being run and Bush, yet she has no problem with American money.  What a hypocrite.  Oh well.  No need to fret over her.  She's not that great of an actress anyway.  Not like my Franka.  And if Franka turns out to be a crazy Democrat (or just a Bush-hater like every other German these days), I'll just overlook that character flaw.  I'm sticking to what I said when I said that I'll never marry a democrat, but for her, I'd make an exception.  She's the exception to a lot of things.  No need to discuss that here or now.

I'm totally crushing.

Sooo good.  When you fall into a bottomless pit, you die of starvation.  These clothes smell like grandmas.  I met a possum.  I'm hesitant.  *weirded out*

Niglets.

Wow, it's been a while. I'm surprised that people still stop by here. So thanks to the people who still care.

First of all, a HUGE thanks to Meg for the Lola painting. It's hanging above my bed. Not on the ceiling though. That's where the mirror is. You all really need to order a painting from her. She is super talented.

Summer II started yesterday. More German for me. Not good. Our teacher is a Nazi terrorist. He's this Iranian guy who speaks terrible English, so I'm not really sure how we're supposed to understand his German. English was his third or fourth language to learn, so it's his worst. And then there's the fact that he can't teach. He's not using the book, except for when he needs busy work, and told us today that he's going to be teaching us as though we were in a German college. Okay, last time I checked, we were still doing the basics. We don't know all the nouns and verbs and verb forms and whatnot. He expects us to, though. So yeah, this'll be fun.

There was an incident with syrup the other night. Let's just say that the lid wasn't on the bottle in the fridge and it got knocked over and a mess was quick to follow. I got that part cleaned up around midnight that night and then did a big cleaning job on the fridge and then scrubbed the floors until my fingers bled, literally. I cut a few fingers on the bottom of the cabinets. That kitchen better start to stay clean from now on. I hate how disgusting it gets. My next project is to organize the bottom cabinets again. They're very messy.

I feel really bad that I haven't written anything in a very long while. It's like my muse is dead or something. I've had ideas for stories and whatnot, but I just can't get them onto paper. And knowing that I have them stored in my head but can't express them is killing me.

I have a cell phone now. Yes, the guy who hated cell phones is now the owner of one. If you're my friend and don't have the number yet, let me know and maybe I'll share it.

I'm sure there's tons more to talk about. Then again, I don't lead a very exciting life so this past month or whatever has been pretty uneventful. That is all for now.

Not too much longer and I'll be back on my own computer up in Denton. Not too much longer and I'll have no more siblings to battle with for computer time. Not too much longer and I'll be free from working nearly everyday. Not too much longer...

So Dad just kicked me off the TV in the living room so he can watch some stupid country music awards. Sorry, but country music isn't music. It's pure crap. It's not even country anymore. Now it's a bunch of pop stars in cowboy hats who sing with a twang. So do any of them deserve awards? Nope, not at all. What a waste of television time. And for those who support country music, what a waste of your life and money.

Yes, I am very bitter right now. I don't feel like listing everything, so don't ask me to. If you do, you will be ignored.
